Website account privacy
This notice describes membership and sign-in on SudburyFilms.com, operated by Sudbury Films Inc.
Information used for your account
When you register, we use the information you submit, including your email address, name, username, language, and membership confirmations. If you create a password, the website stores a one-way password hash. Account features may also save your preferences, creative information, and progress.
Social sign-in
Where available, you may choose Google, GitHub, or Facebook to verify your identity through Clerk, our sign-in service. This uses basic profile information, your email address, and an account identifier. Sudbury Films does not receive your social-provider password. The providers and Clerk process information under their own privacy notices.
Connecting a social identity to an existing Sudbury Films membership requires signing in to that membership and confirming the connection. A matching email alone does not grant access to an existing membership.
How the information is used
We use account information to create and verify memberships, sign you in, send welcome and password-recovery messages, save account features, and protect the service against misuse. Information you choose to share through a community feature can be visible to its intended audience. Signing up does not by itself subscribe you to a mailing list.
Cookies and browser storage
The website uses cookies to maintain sign-in and protect account requests. Browser storage remembers choices such as language, sound, return position, and local creative settings. Clearing website data can remove those preferences and sign you out. Clearing browser data does not delete a server account.
Service providers
Hostinger provides website hosting and storage. Clerk supports social sign-in, and the social provider you select verifies that account. Email services deliver account messages. These services receive information needed to perform their roles. Their processing locations and practices may differ from your own location.
Questions, corrections, and deletion
Contact LarryBernard@sudburyfilms.com to ask about your account information, request a correction, or request deletion. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account owner. Never send your password or verification code by email.
Account and data deletion
To request deletion of your Sudbury Films account and its associated personal information:
- Email LarryBernard@sudburyfilms.com, preferably from the email address registered to your account.
- Use the subject “Sudbury Films account deletion” and include your username or registered email address. Do not send passwords, verification codes, or identity documents.
- Tell us whether you want your entire account deleted or only a social sign-in connection removed. We will confirm ownership and explain the outcome, including any information that must be retained and why.
Removing Sudbury Films from Google, GitHub, or Facebook revokes that provider connection; it does not by itself delete information already held in your Sudbury Films account. You can also clear SudburyFilms.com website data in your browser to remove local preferences. This process does not delete your Google, GitHub, or Facebook account.
